Tony and His Pineapple

(2022)

My first major short film, and one very personal to me, I spent a lot of time working on the screenplay. When it came time to produce, I spent about three days here and there in my free time, entirely solo. Then, after hiring a actor that was kind enough to play a counselor for me under $100, I collected a few C-stands, permission from my school’s office, and spent about three hours creating the finale. Everything — story, camera, lighting, editing, score, coloring and everything in between— was directly influenced by me.
I premiered it first to my close and extended family, who called me with gratifying messages. Then, to my school’s local film festival, where it received a heartwarming appreciation. I publicized it on YouTube afterward, where it is still public.

TAPED

(2022)

A horror short film that was one of my first ever screenplays — originally written in Google Docs. This small film had a few major hurdles, but I’m very happy with the finished project. Pushing my limits, this project had more props, action, and actors than the previous film. On top of it being set high in the mountain. I brought on friends to assist me, and we managed to the three most beautiful days of the Fall.

In editing, a day of shooting and about 4 pages were cut from the beginning of this film to make it flow better. This film won a small award at a minor film festival, and released on YouTube on Halloween. There, it has collected over 40,000 views!

A Day in a Life

(2023)

This film came to be via a school-wide challenge: show a day in your life. At the time, I was dealing with existential thoughts of needing to have my life planned out. It was overwhelming, and I created this film to emphasize those feelings. I’m choosing to showcase this film because it was reviewed by multiple humanities 1010 students after it’s completion. Each student made a response that I was able to read, and it was the first major time I saw an audience open up and connect to me —a complete stranger— about these depressing, difficult thoughts I thought I was alone in. This connection, I realized, is what makes humans, human.

Gun For Hire

(2024)

My largest project by far, Gun For Hire started from inspiration from a now discontinued comic book. I adapted it into a small short film out of a fascination with the story. When a popular social media influencer took interest to greenlight the project, I took the script through intense revisions. This project had about a month and a half of heavy preproduction, where me and my team had to find props, sets, and actors for a western film. It culminated into a 3-day shoot with a 20+ person crew, out-of-state actors, deluxe costuming, professional supplies, and live animals. All while filming in an out-of-the-way remote location.

With luck and no doubt some fantastic miracles, filming went very well. The project has been undergoing a long post-production process, and will release soon.
